What did the Committee take part in?
1 - 4
museums were built on the landing coast. The Committee
manages the D.Day Landing Museum at Arromanches, the Memorial
General de Gaulle at Bayeux and the Memorial Pegasus at
Ranville. The 4th museum is the Battle of Tilly Museum.
The Committee was also involved in the creation of the American
Airborne Troops Museum at Sainte-Mère-Eglise, the
Utah Beach Landing Museum at Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, the N°4
Commando Museum at Ouistreham, the Rangers Museum at Grandcamp-Maisy,
the Fort-du-Roule Museum at Cherbourg and the Merville Battery
Museum at Merville.

2 - Rebuilding
of the Saint-Pierre Church spire at Caen destroyed
during the Allied bombing.
3 - The building of the monument
of Liberation at Bayeux in 1952, inaugurated by General
de Gaulle.
